From June 21 to 25, the 13th Xinjiang Kashgar Central Asia South Asia Commodity Fair (hereinafter referred to as "Kashgar Fair") was held in Kashgar International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Li Hongqi, member of Kashgar Prefecture Committee and executive vice commissioner of Kashgar Administrative Office, said that as an important town on the ancient Silk Road, Kashgar has been a place of economic and cultural exchanges between the East and the West since ancient times. Kashgar, with the regional advantage of "five ports connecting eight countries and one road connecting Europe and Asia", under the general background of "the Belt and Road", this year's "Kashgar Fair" provides a win-win platform for neighboring countries with Kashgar as the center to carry out multilateral trade.

At the opening ceremony held on June 21, Ramesh Rijar, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supply of Nepal, Khalid Kurhid, Chief Minister of Kyrgyzstan Baltistan, Pakistan, and Shatmanov Samat, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

From 2018 to 2022, the trade volume between China and Kyrgyzstan has increased by 2.2 times. In his speech, Shatmanov Samat, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, said that China has made remarkable achievements in cross-border e-commerce, accumulated valuable experience and knowledge, and Kyrgyzstan has seen a great prospect of cooperating with China to develop e-commerce. Kyrgyzstan is willing to learn from China's experience in developing e-commerce, sell agricultural and industrial products to China through China's cross-border e-commerce platform, and make contributions to the development of bilateral cooperation.

Kashgar is an important fulcrum in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt and an important node of the South Passage. It is also the starting point of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, and has strong economic complementarity with neighboring countries; It has the advantages of a new round of special policies such as Kashgar Economic Development Zone, Comprehensive Bonded Zone, cross-border e-commerce, and counterpart aid to Xinjiang. It has advantages in developing foreign trade, deepening opening to the west, and foreign exchanges and cooperation.

According to statistics, 577 foreign businessmen and enterprises in and outside Xinjiang from 19 countries and regions participated in the "Kashgar Fair". At the signing ceremony of the Investment Promotion Conference held on June 23, 61 projects were signed, with a total amount of 52.483 billion yuan, involving trade logistics, new materials, electronic information, textiles and clothing, energy conservation and environmental protection. Liu Guo, Deputy Director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of Kashgar Economic Development Zone, said that this year's Kashgar Fair is the exhibition with the largest number of foreign businessmen and the best results.

Dong Youhua, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Development and Reform Commission of Kashgar, said that Kashgar is accelerating the construction of the Eurasian Golden Corridor, an important fulcrum in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, and a regional center of the southern Xinjiang urban agglomeration.
