Taiwan Machinery Industry Output Increased By 10% In The First Quarter

According to statistics released by Taiwan Machinery Association in May 20th, the total output value of Taiwan machinery industry in the first quarter of this year amounted to NT $230 billion, up by 10% over the same period last year, which is in line with market expectations. It is estimated that the total output value of the machinery industry will reach 970 billion yuan this year, up 10% from last year.

The ITIS Project Office of the Ministry of economic affairs of Taiwan pointed out that this year, besides the European and American markets, China's mainland and India markets also made good contributions.

The import tariff of India has been continuously relaxed, and the manufacturing industry such as automobile components has been rising rapidly. Taiwan's machine tools and textile machinery are quite competitive.

Due to major events such as the 2008 Olympic Games, Shanghai World Expo and Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010, there are many major construction projects in mainland China. The demand for high-precision precision machine tools is also very strong. All these are favorable factors to promote the prosperity of the machine tool industry.

However, in terms of metal mold and rubber plastic machinery, because manufacturers are facing threats from South Korea and Mainland China, the price competition is serious, and the proportion of manufacturers moving to the mainland and Southeast Asia is getting higher and higher, so this year's performance may weaken.
