In May 28, 2010, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued G/TBT/N/USA/546 bulletin confirming the children's jacket coat with a neck or hood rope size ranging from 2T to 12 and with some waist or lower parts. It is reported that the US CPSC is proposing a rule which stipulates that the size of the rope with neck or hood can be 2T to 12 or equal with waist or lower part. Children's coat products with these characteristics have involved many deaths and serious injuries caused by rope entangling with some facilities, such as amusement park slides, cribs, and school buses. This rule proposal will help industry understand CPSC's regulations on such clothing and promote the process of obtaining appropriate remedial measures when such clothing is discovered in trade.

The deadline for approval and commencement of the notification is August 2, 2010.
