This year, many enterprises in Shenzhen have begun to raise salaries, but the rate of increase is generally around 200 yuan / month, which obviously can not attract migrant workers.

Labor shortage

"Compared with Liu Hong, today's" shortage "is deep and structural.

In recent years, the central and western regions have developed rapidly, and the gap between remuneration and the Pearl River Delta has been narrowed, and the cost of living is relatively low. Many migrant workers choose to work locally.

Experts pointed out that the rapid development of the mainland cities, lack of work or will become the Pearl River Delta need to face long-term problems, the era of cheap labor that has been developing is in the past.


Job seekers upgrading of new generation workers


The labor shortage in the Pearl River Delta is more commonly seen as "shortage of general workers".

Zhang Baoying, director of the Guangzhou municipal human resources market service center, said that the most deficient industry in Guangzhou is manufacturing, clothing, footwear and other manufacturing industries. Labor demand accounts for half of the city's total demand, and the shortage of manpower in logistics, catering and tourism is also serious.


"I have had two years of work experience, and I took part in training last year, and I plan to get a more skilled job."

A 24 year old young man told the China Securities Journal reporter that before he worked as a general manager, he felt that there was no future.


The China Securities Journal reporter interviewed some 20 year old job seekers in several labour markets in Shenzhen. These people are mostly relaxed and confident. They have expressed their hope that the work has a good technical content and a good working environment, and there is room for improvement.

After 90, Xiao Lu indicated that he would never be a pipelined worker until he had to do so. He worked too hard and often had to work overtime.

Liu Kaiming, the director of Shenzhen Institute of contemporary social observation, thinks that the family conditions and education level of the post-90s are different from those of their parents. Enterprises should face up to reality and establish a mechanism environment that can keep them growing and working at ease. Industrial upgrading is imminent.


Experts point out that the current shortage of labor is partly the imbalance of supply and demand structure. Mr. Luo, head of the Longhua electronics manufacturer, told the China Securities Journal reporter that the wages provided by the company are already in the upper and middle level in their peers. If the wage is raised again, the company will surely not be able to afford it.

Factories rely on foreign orders to maintain business. Now the manufacturing industry in India and Vietnam is getting more and more developed, which has a great impact on them.


Zhang Jianmin, general manager of Zhongshan Jinhai employment agency, told the China Securities Journal reporter that after the Spring Festival, the companies that recruited him recruited, but he could not recruit workers to Henan's hometown.

Because of the technical content and the industrial structure, many enterprises in Zhongshan cannot raise their salaries. If we want to attract talents, the fundamental strategy is to upgrade the industry and improve the technological content, so as to promote the development with high technology and high profits and provide high salaries.


Liu Kaiming believes that "labor shortage" to a certain extent forced Shenzhen's economic pformation, some enterprises will consider upgrading and upgrading, to achieve the pformation of production mode, some labor-intensive enterprises may migrate to the mainland, may also be eliminated by the market.


Wei Dazhi, director of the center for industrial economy research of Shenzhen University, suggested that it is the right choice for the PRD to realize the sustainable development of the Pearl River Delta by appropriately raising the minimum wage standard, speeding up the adjustment of industrial structure and realizing the pformation of development mode to relying on independent innovation and high added value.
