The American Fashion Designers Association Adds 33 New Members.

The American Fashion Designers Association CFDA added 33 new members last week, breaking the record. Mr. CFDA CEO Steven Kolb said: "the number of designers in the 2011 session is the highest since the founding of the association in 1962, and has broken the record."

But you must not think that this means that the threshold for joining the CFDA association has been reduced. All candidates who are expected to join the association will need to submit their biographical notes, collections, two letters of recommendation from the current CFDA members, and a series of interviews. The threshold of CFDA can be said to be comparable to that of Ivy League, so membership of the association can be said to be the elite of the industry.

Such names as Prabal Gurung, Rogan Gregory, Olivier Theyskens, Eddie Borgo have become household names, and Tess Giberson, Derek Derek, and Jo are also famous for being accepted by the association.

To celebrate the entry, Donna Karan will have a party in autumn to welcome the new members.
