The Brazil Government Gazette today promulgated an anti-dumping resolution adopted yesterday by the Executive Committee of the Brazil Foreign Trade Commission. It decided to impose a 182% anti-dumping duty on imported shoes from China.

According to the communique, according to the Brazil Foreign Trade Commission Resolution No. forty-second in 2012, it decided to implement the Chinese shoe upper with the tax number of 6406.10.00 in the southern Communist city and the Chinese shoe sole with the tax number 6406.10.00.

Since 2010, Brazil has imposed an anti-dumping duty surcharge of 13.85 US dollars on imports of Chinese shoes.

In October 2011, after receiving complaints from the local footwear manufacturers association, the Brazil government began anti-dumping investigations on imported Chinese shoes.

The reporter learned from the Ministry of industry and trade of Brazil that after 9 months' investigation, the Ministry of foreign trade and Security Bureau confirmed that the import volume of China's shoes was greatly increased, which counteracted the original anti-dumping effect on Chinese shoes.

In addition, it is also found that the import of Chinese shoes has accounted for more than 60% of the raw materials used by the shoemaking industry, while the added value of the industrial production process is less than 25%.

For this reason, the decision is made.
