The Chinese business delegation led by Vice President Feng Dehu arrived in Bangladesh capital Dhaka on Friday (August 31st) and visited some garment factories.

"This is a new market," Mohiuddin added. "We have just obtained China's tax exemption permission, which covers almost all garments products in Bangladesh.

We still need time to develop the market. "

Bangladesh clothing exporters will enjoy more than 90% duty-free entry policies in China, including T-shirts, jeans, knitwear and casual pants.

Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, the first vice president of Bangladesh garment manufacturers and Exporters Association, said that China will be the next target market for garment exports in Bangladesh, which contains enormous export potential.

At present, Bangladesh exports less than US $300 million to China's apparel products, but the number will gradually increase.

In addition, he also said that the wages of Chinese workers are relatively high, so the Chinese clothing industry can import clothing products from Bangladesh at a lower price.

When asked about the purpose of the Chinese delegation's visit to Bangladesh, M Siddiqur Rahman, second vice president of Bangladesh clothing manufacturers and Exporters Association, said: "there are many problems to be discussed.

Manufacturers have not been able to get the workers they need in recent days.

This prompted them to plan to produce garments in Bangladesh and then export to China.

The industry said that China's labor costs continue to grow, and the overall production cost has greatly improved, making China's garment manufacturing industry no longer competitive advantage.

As a result, Chinese enterprises are turning their garment factories to Bangladesh.

It is reported that some Chinese companies have set up offices in Dhaka and ordered clothing in Bangladesh.

Chinese manufacturers say that if they import clothing in Bangladesh, prices will fall by 10% to 15% depending on the category.

Due to lower labor costs and tax exemption policy, Bangladesh's clothing orders from China in the next few years are expected to increase substantially.

These orders may also help offset the decline in demand in the US and the euro area.

The Bangladesh garment manufacturers and Exporters Association will conduct long-term negotiations with Chinese enterprises to ensure that their garment products enter the Chinese market smoothly.
