China Has Come To The Fore In The International Footwear Standardization Stage

From 23 to 25 October 2012, ISO/TC 216/WG1, CEN/TC 309/WG1 and WG2, CEN/TC 309 & ISO/TC 216 were held at the Spanish standards and Certification Association (AENOR) in Madrid, Spain.

More than 20 representatives from nearly ten countries including Europe, the United States and China participated in the conference.

ISO/TC 216/WG1 "footwear and Microbiology" working group meeting was chaired by Zhang Weijuan, convenor of the working group.

The conference reviewed the progress of ISO/DIS 16187 "test methods for bacterial evaluation of footwear and footwear components" and DIS voting, discussed and handled the standard feedback, and made editorial revisions to the standards.

The meeting decided that in order to make the standard form more perfect, the draft standard will be consulted again for a month after the end of this meeting, and the FDIS version is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

At the meeting, China put forward two new work item proposals. After heated discussions and China's active efforts, the meeting agreed that the new project "test method of antifungal evaluation of footwear and footwear components" was approved.

In addition, more information will be given on the newly released "safety of dissolution of antibacterial products and footwear", which will be discussed at the next working group meeting.

In the CEN/TC 309 & ISO/TC 216 meeting, the liaison officer from ISO informed the latest developments in the ISO standard revision. Zhang Weijuan, the convener of ISO/TC 216/WG1, briefed the progress of the standard setting, the convening of the meeting and the composition of the working group, and the convener of CEN/TC 309/WG1 and WG2 also reported on the work of the working group in the past year.

The conference discussed the business plan of ISO/TC 216, and decided to start the revision of the plan. China, the United States and 5 countries from Europe participated.

The conference discussed and voted on the test method of "antifungal evaluation of footwear and footwear components" put forward by ISO/TC 216/WG1, and determined that the standard was set up by China. The participating countries also included 7 countries, including Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

China will submit standard proposals and draft standards to ISO/TC 216 in the near future to formally initiate the formulation of the standard.

In addition, ISO/TC 216 voted on the other 32 standard revision projects and arranged the progress of next year's work.

When discussing the work of CEN/TC 309, the convenor of Germany's new CEN/TC 309/WG4 working group was determined to inform and pform the ISO/TC 137 standard into the corresponding EU standard.

The conference discussed 35 standard revision projects and arranged the progress of next year's work. The representative of China actively expressed his views and was effectively adopted.

ISO/TC 216/WG1 "

The working group on microbiology was established in 2010 and convened by Chinese experts. At present, the project ISO 16187 is coming to an end.

In order to continuously participate in the international standard setting and strive for more China led standard projects, China has made two follow-up projects on the basis of long-term preparations.

One of them has been actively promoted, and this has been another breakthrough in China's participation in international footwear standardization in recent years.

In recent years, the representative of China has been involved in the revision of the international standard system for footwear. He has actively communicated with his international counterparts and has put forward opinions on standards. More and more opinions have been attached importance to and adopted by the conference. More Chinese leading standards have been set up. China has made a step forward on the stage of international footwear standardization.
