The Republic Of Korea

In December 23, 2008, the customs office of Korea issued the "safety measures for imported goods". According to the safety measures, the customs office first designated 7 categories of imported products such as food, medicine, clothing, kitchen products, cosmetics, jewelry and toys as the key management products, and formulated 20 specific countermeasures for the 3 core strategies, namely, Prevention, Intervention and Response.

The customs office also plans to amend the relevant announcements. Once illegal and harmful imports are found, customs clearance measures will be adopted at 47 customs offices nationwide, and the hygiene standards of bonded warehouses will be obliged. Meanwhile, sanctions against illegal enterprises will be implemented immediately.

In addition, the customs office will set up a new registration system for origin identification and composition, and guide the implementation of the code of origin. If there is any violation, it will impose a fine while taking corrective measures.
