Countries Such As Brazil, Australia, Mexico And Canada Benefited From The Sino US Trade War.

The trade war between the US and China has intensified. The United States has imposed 25% tariffs on imports of 250 billion US dollars (Note: the official website of the US USTR has not yet announced $250 billion to 30%), and the US $300 billion will continue to rise from 10% to 15%. China currently levies tariffs of 5% to 50% on US imports of about $113 billion. Many people worry that tariffs will impact global trade, but in fact, many countries are already filling the gap between the US and China's bilateral trade, and are the beneficiaries of the trade war between the two countries.

News website Quartz analyzes the trade volume of products affected by tariffs in the United States and China. So far, the winner of the US China trade war is neither the US nor China, but Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Canada and other countries, which promptly fill the gap between us and China bilateral trade. On the other hand, China's exports to the US decreased while the amount of exports from Mexico, Korea, Japan and Canada to the United States increased significantly.

In addition, the amount of exports to China from Australia, Switzerland, Brazil, Hongkong and Canada is also growing. The data are summarized as follows:

(1) the biggest beneficiary in the US China trade war is Australia, mainly because China imports a lot of natural gas, gold and other resources from Australia, and imports cotton from Australia in large quantities.

(two) the second largest benefiting country is Switzerland, and its exports to China are also significantly higher. In addition, Switzerland also exports 25 million of its electronic products to the United States, while China's exports to the United States decrease by 190 million US dollars.

(three) the third largest beneficiary is Mexico. In the first half of this year, Mexico replaced China and became the largest trading partner of the United States. The United States has imported large amounts of data processing and storage equipment from Mexico, as well as wires and fiber optic cables. These products are the products that China's exports to the United States will be subject to 25% tariffs.

(four) the fourth largest beneficiary is Brazil. China reduced its purchase of soybeans and cotton and other agricultural products to the United States and then turned to Brazil to buy it.

(five) the fifth largest beneficiary is Canada. Its exports to the United States and China grow at the same time. The products exported to the United States are computer chips, circuit boards and industrial moulds, while the soybeans exported to China also increase.

International Trade Centre (Internatio) Nal Trade Center (ITC) data show that:

(1) during the period from November 2018 to April 2019, China reduced its purchases to the US $17 billion 900 million, but increased its purchases to Australia by US $7 billion 100 million; increased purchases to Switzerland by US $6 billion 600 million; the increase in purchases to Brazil, Hongkong and Canada amounted to US $4 billion 900 million, US $2 billion 300 million and US $2 billion 200 million respectively.

(two) while the US side reduced the amount of procurement to China for 8 billion dollars during the same period, it increased the purchase of $5 billion 600 million to Mexico, increased the purchase amount to $3 billion 300 million from Taiwan, and increased procurement to Korea, Japan and Canada for us $2 billion 300 million, US $1 billion 900 million and US $1 billion 200 million respectively. China is the second most benefiting country.
