Vietnam Has Become The Seventh Largest Source Of Imports In The United States.

According to the relevant information of the US government, the amount of Vietnam exported to the United States in the first 8 months of this year (2019) amounted to US $10 billion 900 million, growing 34%, advancing to seventh from the original twelfth largest importing countries.

However, since China's imports decreased by 12.5% (equivalent to US $43 billion 250 million), Mexico grew by 5.5% (equivalent to US $12 billion 400 million), and Mexico is expected to replace China as the largest source of imports in the United States.

However, Vietnam's Ministry of Commerce and industry believes that the growth rate of Vietnam's exports in this (2019) year is about 7-7.5%, which is much lower than that of previous years. The main reason is the overall trade tensions. The trade frictions between China, Japan and South Korea and the slow economic growth of some countries have reduced the demand for Vietnamese goods.

Vietnam Minister of industry and commerce, Ruan Chun Ying, called on Vietnamese enterprises to diversify their export markets in order to cope with difficulties and increase shipments by the end of the year.

According to OTEXA statistics from the US Department of Commerce, in 2019, Vietnam exported US $9 billion 669 million of textiles and garments to the United States, accounting for 12.75% of the second largest importers of textiles and clothing in the United States. Under the encouragement of the US China trade war, it increased by 12.53% compared with the same period last year. In the same month, the number of garments exported to the United States reached 9 billion 63 million US dollars in 1~8 this year, and the proportion was 15.81%, with a change of 12.14% over the same period in 2019.
