Xinji News: 2021 "Genuine Leather" Leather Design Competition Clothing Final And Award Ceremony Held Ceremoniously

On the evening of July 7, the final and award ceremony of 2021 "genuine leather self" leather design competition co sponsored by China Leather Association and American original leather Committee was successfully held in Xinji international leather city.

The leather design competition of "genuine leather" is a global competition for young students initiated by the original leather Committee of the United States. It is co hosted with China Leather Association in the competition area of mainland China and co organized by Xinji Municipal People's government. The competition aims to promote the sustainability, versatility, durability and fashion of leather, enhance the young generation's understanding of leather and stimulate the creativity of young students. The competition was strongly supported and sponsored by Xingye Leather Technology Co., Ltd., Zibo Dahuan jiubaoen Leather Group Co., Ltd. and Longfeng leather Lemei Co., Ltd., especially with the full assistance of Xinji Municipal People's government.

The competition was launched on April 23 this year, with the theme of "genuine self" for young students. There are more than 800 pieces of works from 23 colleges and universities, covering shoes, leather goods and leather clothing. After the preliminary evaluation, a total of 55 works were selected for the final.

Professor Lu Min of Academy of fine arts of Tsinghua University, Diao Mei, design director of Diao Mei design studio, Wang Duo, independent designer of Beijing linyiduo technology and Trade Co., Ltd., Professor Ma Li of fashion design department of Hebei Normal University, and Sheng Weihong, President of Xinji fashion design alliance, served as judges of the competition.

In line with the principles of fairness, openness and fairness, through the strict evaluation of the evaluation group, Luo Jingtian and Cao Liwei's "crazy dream diary 1" from Northeast Electric Power University finally stood out from the 19 clothing final works and won the first prize of this competition. Jiang Yinzhu and Hua Yangyang of Zhejiang textile and garment vocational and technical college and Ma Keke's "empty valley" won the second and third prizes respectively. The competition also set up individual awards. Du Manting and Zhang YAYING of Guangzhou Peizheng University won the most potential awards, Xu Lifang from Zhejiang textile and garment vocational and technical college, and Li Peixuan from Beijing University of technology respectively won the best color matching award and the best craft award.

In his speech, chairman Li Yuzhong pointed out that the main fabric of the competition works was made of natural leather, which played a very positive role in stimulating the new generation of young people's love for genuine leather, understanding the unique properties of natural leather, reflecting the sustainability of leather, environmental friendliness, durability, versatility and fashion with creativity and design. At the same time, he stressed that the competition has a distinctive international color, which opens a window for Chinese young students to understand the design level of overseas students, and builds a platform for domestic and foreign students to exchange ideas.

Professor Lu Min, chairman of the evaluation committee, commented that the theme of the competition is distinct and the concept of "true self" is highlighted, which will help young students to develop their creative design expression ability. By combining the characteristics of leather materials, the students carried out innovative design, which fully reflected the unique art design level of today's cutting-edge designers.

After the award ceremony, a seminar on the future development trend of leather industry and leather culture was held. The representatives of the award-winning students shared the design ideas. The representatives of Xinji enterprise expressed their hope for young designers and thought that design is the soul of products. At the same time, they said Xinji enterprise will provide development space and platform for young designers.
