"AI+Textile" In Action | Intelligent Innovation: AI Reshapes The Future Of The Textile And Clothing Industry
Artificial intelligence (AI) is reconstructing the industrial structure and underlying base, and reshaping productivity and production relations. The development of intelligent economy has become an important opportunity for industrial transformation and upgrading and for achieving lane changing overtaking.
To grasp the opportunity of AI, China's textile industry needs to return to its essence, strengthen the research in vertical fields, achieve breakthroughs in key scenarios, and build a rich application ecology; To grasp the AI tuyere, we need to appropriately look ahead to the layout, integrate fragmented scenes, precipitate high-quality data, do a good job in "AI+textile", and build design, manufacturing, marketing, and brand building on "big data+big computing power+strong algorithm".
In order to deeply analyze how AI participates in the development of the textile industry at present and in the future and empower the whole industry, we will launch the column "AI+Textile" in Action "to introduce the development and trend of AI in the industry and promote the development of new industrial productivity.
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, it has become the key force driving the revolutionary change of the textile and clothing industry. From material procurement and product design to production, sales and customer service, the integration of AI has not only greatly improved efficiency and accuracy, but also promoted the transformation of the industry to sustainable development and personalized customization. This paper will discuss the key application scenarios of AI in the textile and clothing industry, analyze the specific advantages it brings, discuss the current challenges, and look forward to the future scenarios of the deep integration of AI technology and the textile and clothing industry.
Key scenarios of AI application in enterprises
AI has changed every link of every industry, including all fields of our textile and clothing industry. It includes trend prediction and pattern design of product development, intelligent production scheduling and quality inspection of production and operation, demand prediction and route optimization of supply chain logistics, content creation and pricing strategy of marketing, AI agency and personalized experience of digital commerce, layout optimization of store operation and labor management, etc. By integrating AI in these areas, it not only improves operational efficiency and reduces costs, but also enhances customer satisfaction and promotes sustainable development.
In the process of product development, especially fabric procurement and pattern design, product developers often need to rely on their personal experience to judge which fabrics are suitable for customers, and personally spend several days or even more than a week to find the most suitable fabrics in the physical fabric library of each fabric factory. Now, through the integration of human intelligence computer vision and natural language processing technology, users can quickly find the required fabric by image or text in the huge fabric database, greatly reducing the procurement time and improving the accuracy of material selection (Figure 1). In addition, the generative AI technology combined with the knowledge of the textile industry allows users to create hundreds of unique pattern designs in a few minutes by uploading inspiration patterns and selecting colors, and convert them into textile CAD files that can be used for production (Figure 2). In this way, the user can directly send the data to the fabric factory, making the design work more efficient, accurate and simple, and avoiding unnecessary sample manufacturing to reduce the waste of fabric and energy.

In the production process, computer vision technology is widely used, especially in the detection, judgment and classification of defects in the production process, including online real-time detection of fabrics, flaw detection of auxiliary materials and garment size detection. It used to be a challenge to realize online detection in the fabric production process, but with the development of artificial intelligence, the industry has achieved remarkable results. (Figure 3)

In addition, some factories are trying to use artificial intelligence to analyze the working status of employees, such as judging whether the working methods are correct and predicting production capacity, to further assist enterprises and employees to optimize their work and improve efficiency. (Figure 4)

Specific advantages and changes of AI application
The application of AI in various industries has brought many advantages and promoted profound changes in the industry. First, AI can greatly improve work efficiency by automating repetitive tasks, such as pattern design, quality inspection and data analysis, so that human resources can focus on more creative and value-added work. Through AI, we can analyze massive data, mine potential laws, provide data support for enterprises, and help enterprises make more scientific and accurate decisions.
The application of AI has brought about changes in the industry, including the transformation of production mode, from traditional labor-intensive to technology intensive mode, the realization of intelligent manufacturing and digital transformation, and the birth of new business models, such as personalized customization, on-demand production and online offline integration, which has injected new vitality into the development of the industry.
